Make sure you experiment with your own equipment and preferred film before shooting an entire trip’s worth of film at an up-rated ISO.

EXPOSING COLOUR NEGATIVE FILM

In contrast, negative films are much more tolerant of exposure errors. It’s possible for satisfactory prints to be made from negatives that are two stops over- or underexposed. In fact, mistakes often go unnoticed because they’re corrected automatically by the minilab when the prints are made. Although exposure latitude is greater with negative film, best results are produced when it’s slightly overexposed. Expose for the shadows and the highlights will take care of themselves.
